Ángela Álvez is preparing to portray the singer Lágrima Ríos in an opera about the singer's life. After the premiere, she receives a call from Carito Bernardini, Lágrima's youngest granddaughter, who saw the opera and wants to meet her. They meet at a bar, and Carito tells her that she never met Lágrima because she only learned she was her granddaughter a month after the artist's death, even though she had lived just a block away from her house her entire life. She tells Ángela that she needs help piecing together her story and wants to learn who Lágrima was, to better understand herself and where she should go. Together, to the rhythm of Lágrima's music, they set out to meet this character, visiting the places where she was born, grew up, and lived, interviewing her friends, and discovering the living legacy the artist left behind.
