In the midst of an economic crisis, a nine-year-old girl's gift for communicating with animals gives her opportunity-hungry guardians the idea of offering her services as a pet medium. The traveling family must confront their own inability to communicate as they journey through the Argentinian countryside in a small camper van on their way to visit the girl's mother, who is institutionalized in a psychiatric hospital.
